Louise, ranked top U18 girl in England
Atanas has greatly helped my opening theory and sharpened my strategic thinking and as a result, my FIDE elo has increased by 200 points. Atanas has a clear approach to his teaching and follows up the lessons with useful examples, including some of his own games, that helps with game preparation. I highly recommend him as a teacher.

I have been having lessons with Mr Kizov for over 2 years now, and in this time he has given me an excellent and extremely detailed opening repertoire to suit my playing style, after recognizing weaknesses in my chess. He offers me support and excellent advice about playing and practice whenever I ask of it, and tailors his teaching to me. I could not ask for a better teacher. "
Melanie Dass, South Africa
Atanas Kizov has been coaching our 11 year old daughter Karmishta for the last year. During that period she has improved her rating by more than 300! This alone is a testimony to the quality of his instruction. Prior to his lessons our daughter was unable to take her game to the next level. But during the last 12 months we have seen her game grow in strength and consistency. Atanas is gentle with our daughter but also firm and thorough. His lessons are systematic and slowly build her abilities based on her style of play. He is also always ready to analyse her tournament games which has been a great help to her. We have no hesitation in recommending Atanas as a chess instructor for any child who is eager to improve their chess and willing to work at it.

I would heartily recommend Mr.Atanas to anyone who wants to improve their understanding of chess.
His approach is direct and emphasis on understanding the reason behind the moves and not rote learning. He is a great teacher and if you take his lessons your understanding and ratings are bound to improve from wherever you stand.
You would never regret signing up for chess lessons with Atanas.
Santosh from England
I am a club level player in the UK. I took chess coaching with IM Atanas Kizov. Atanas gave me the deep insight into new openings, the associated theory and side-lines. He ensured that the coaching was appropriate to my playing strength and style. My game and confidence have improved thanks to the coaching. Atanas is extremely professional and prompt in providing additional study material for each lesson. - S Pandit, London

Teacher Kizov is a very experienced and patient teacher. He can explain all the techniques very well and he is willing to give me time to figure out the questions when I am not sure about the answer.
I have learnt many things from Teacher Kizov and I strongly recommend him to people at any playing level of chess.
Mark Josse from England
I had weekly Online chess lessons with IM Kizov for 2 years and he helped me improve my play and consolidate my rating at FIDE 2180 level . He always turned up when we agreed and the lessons were always well prepared with PGN files sent through after . He helped me build an opening repertoire for both colours that stood up to tournament play at master level . I have tried a number of other chess tutors before but i found Atanas was without doubt the best for value and also for content . I would thoroughly recommend him as a chess coach who is able to cater for all players but with the rare ability to coach and improve strong players

To whom it may concern
It is rare to be both a good chess player and a good coach .After success in many Olympiads I have seen Tane mature into a very effective coach over the last five years.
The words I would use are honest , insightful ,accurate and flexible which are the characteristics required of a good teacher and his English is good .
Tane has allowed me to understand the game and as a result I find it more enjoyable and of course my rating has dramatically improved.
I plan to keep working with Tane over the next five years and recommend him to you as well.

recommendation from GM Nikola Mitkov from Macedonia
I write this letter of recommendation of IM Atanas Kizov as a chess instructor.
I have known Atanas since we were kids, and I can say that his love and enthusiasm for the game of chess is one rare found even amongst the top players in the world. In spite of all the obstacles that he had as a child he managed to make chess his life call, and that is why I am positive that he will transfer all his positive energy to his students.
On a professional note Atanas was the selector of the Macedonian Chess Team (On which I play) for 3 years, and showed a great deal of responsibility, punctuality and enormous dedication to his work.
Atanas works hard keeping pace with the new discoveries in chess especially in analyzing openings and new variations, which is essential to ones success in current competition. He will help his students master their game to perfection and as I mentioned will bring out the love and dedication to the game.
Atanas has been sought after as a chess coach in the past couple of years and I assure you that you will not regret the decision of having him as your coach.

reommendation from Dragan Solak GM from Turkey
I first met Atanas in the last round of the monthly blitz tournament in my town. When this 'new guy' used the Exchange Slav, I thought that it was just another player trying to simplify position and draw with white against an experienced grandmaster. But when he used a fantastic novelty on move 17, I understood he was much more than that. He won that game and the tournament and I spent three days analyzing the position and ended up changing my whole opening strategy from as early as move six. I didn't repeat the same mistake again, but nevertheless, games with him were always tense and difficult. I saw that he had a huge knowledge about various opening setups, and when he once demonstrated a great positional understanding in our post-mortem analysis, I asked him to study together for a few days. I learned an awful lot from him. And the best thing about Atanas is that he is a very pleasant person to spend time with.
